shuddho vRtraaNi jighnase shuddho vaajaM siSaasasi

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ לֶךְ־ נָ֨א רְאֵ֜ה אֶת־ שְׁל֤וֹם אַחֶ֙יךָ֙ וְאֶת־ שְׁל֣וֹם הַצֹּ֔אן וַהֲשִׁבֵ֖נִי דָּבָ֑ר וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֙הוּ֙ מֵעֵ֣מֶק חֶבְר֔וֹן וַיָּבֹ֖א שְׁכֶֽמָה׃

sa sunvate ca stuvate ca raasate vishvaguurto ariSTutaH

ἀλλὰ πολλῷ μᾶλλον τὰ δοκοῦντα μέλη τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενέστερα ὑπάρχειν ἀναγκαῖά ἐστιν,

And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

आरुरुक्षोर्मुनेर्योगं कर्म कारणमुच्यते । योगारूढस्य तस्यैव शमः कारणमुच्यते

RtaavaanaH praticakSyaanRtaa punar aata aa tasthuH kavayo mahas pathaH

Ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις παραγίνεται Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς κηρύσσων ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τῆς Ἰουδαίας

avor itthaa vaaM chardiSo abhiSTau yuvor mitraavaruNaav askRdhoyu

עַל־ מִשְׁכָּבִי֙ בַּלֵּיל֔וֹת בִּקַּ֕שְׁתִּי אֵ֥ת שֶׁאָהֲבָ֖ה נַפְשִׁ֑י בִּקַּשְׁתִּ֖יו וְלֹ֥א מְצָאתִֽיו׃

Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.

Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.

All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
