Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

sadyo yaH syandro viSito dhaviiyaan RNo na taayur ati dhanvaa raaT

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

trish cid aktoH pra cikitur vasuuni tve antar daashuSe martyaaya

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

וַיִּקֹּ֧ד יְהוֹשָׁפָ֛ט אַפַּ֖יִם אָ֑רְצָה וְכָל־ יְהוּדָ֞ה וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם נָֽפְלוּ֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֖ת לַיהוָֽה׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ גִּדְע֔וֹן רַ֗ב הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתָּ֔ךְ מִתִּתִּ֥י אֶת־ מִדְיָ֖ן בְּיָדָ֑ם פֶּן־ יִתְפָּאֵ֨ר עָלַ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יָדִ֖י הוֹשִׁ֥יעָה לִּֽי׃

And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

וַיֵּ֤דַע קַ֙יִן֙ אֶת־ אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ וַתַּ֖הַר וַתֵּ֣לֶד אֶת־ חֲנ֑וֹךְ וַֽיְהִי֙ בֹּ֣נֶה עִ֔יר וַיִּקְרָא֙ שֵׁ֣ם הָעִ֔יר כְּשֵׁ֖ם בְּנ֥וֹ חֲנֽוֹךְ׃

Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
