Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

וְהַנָּשִׂ֨יא אֲשֶׁר־ בְּתוֹכָ֜ם אֶל־ כָּתֵ֤ף יִשָּׂא֙ בָּעֲלָטָ֣ה וְיֵצֵ֔א בַּקִּ֥יר יַחְתְּר֖וּ לְה֣וֹצִיא ב֑וֹ פָּנָ֣יו יְכַסֶּ֔ה יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־ יִרְאֶ֥ה לַעַ֛יִן ה֖וּא...

And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

ati vaayo sasato yaahi shashvato yatra graavaa vadati tatra gachataM gRham indrash ca gachatam

shcotanti koshaa upa vo ratheSv aa ghRtam ukSataa madhuvarNam arcate

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

וְתָאֵ֨י הַשַּׁ֜עַר דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֗ים שְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה מִפֹּה֙ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה מִפֹּ֔ה מִדָּ֥ה אַחַ֖ת לִשְׁלָשְׁתָּ֑ם וּמִדָּ֥ה אַחַ֛ת לָאֵילִ֖ם מִפֹּ֥ה וּמִפּֽוֹ׃
