נִשְׁבְּרָ֖ה קִרְיַת־ תֹּ֑הוּ סֻגַּ֥ר כָּל־ בַּ֖יִת מִבּֽוֹא׃

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

devaanaaM ya in mano yajamaana iyakSaty abhiid ayajvano bhuvat

baadhasva duure nirRtim paraacaiH kRtaM cid enaH pra mumugdhy asmat

yaam puuSan brahmacodaniim aaraam bibharSy aaghRNe

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

devaanaaM ya in mano yajamaana iyakSaty abhiid ayajvano bhuvat

وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَاهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

vasuu rudraa purumantuu vRdhantaa dashasyataM no vRSaNaav abhiSTau

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

sa tvam agne saubhagatvasya vidvaan asmaakam aayuH pra tireha deva

They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

But now are they many members, yet but one body.

devaanaaM ya in mano yajamaana iyakSaty abhiid ayajvano bhuvat

For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

πίστει Ῥαὰβ ἡ πόρνη οὐ συναπώλετο τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν, δεξαμένη τοὺς κατασκόπους μετʼ εἰρήνης.

As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι· Σὺ περὶ σεαυτοῦ μαρτυρεῖς· ἡ μαρτυρία σου οὐκ ἔστιν ἀληθής.

وَإِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا إِلَى شَيَاطِينِهِمْ قَالُوا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِئُونَ
