כִּ֤י שָׁ֨מָּה ׀ יָשְׁב֣וּ כִסְא֣וֹת לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֝סְא֗וֹת לְבֵ֣ית דָּוִֽיד׃

וְאֶת־ בְּנוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם יִקָּ֑ח לְרַקָּח֥וֹת וּלְטַבָּח֖וֹת וּלְאֹפֽוֹת׃

הִנֵּ֥ה בָרֵ֖ךְ לָקָ֑חְתִּי וּבֵרֵ֖ךְ וְלֹ֥א אֲשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃

So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.

And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَى مِنْ قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ

Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

ἀλλὰ τοὐναντίον ἰδόντες ὅτι πεπίστευμαι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς ἀκροβυστίας καθὼς Πέτρος τῆς περιτομῆς,

vaavRdhaanaH shavasaa bhuuryojaaH shatrur daasaaya bhiyasaM dadhaati

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

चञ्चलं हि मनः कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्‌ दृढम् । तस्याऽहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम्
