וְעַ֨ל־ צְבָ֔א מַטֵּ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י שִׁמְע֑וֹן שְׁלֻֽמִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ צוּרִֽי שַׁדָּֽי׃

אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־ רֵעֵ֖הוּ יַעְזֹ֑רוּ וּלְאָחִ֖יו יֹאמַ֥ר חֲזָֽק׃

לַעֲשׂ֤וֹת בָּהֶ֨ם ׀ מִשְׁפָּ֬ט כָּת֗וּב הָדָ֣ר ה֭וּא לְכָל־ חֲסִידָ֗יו הַֽלְלוּ־ יָֽהּ׃

וְצָד֥וֹק נַ֖עַר גִּבּ֣וֹר חָ֑יִל וּבֵית־ אָבִ֥יו שָׂרִ֖ים עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּשְׁנָֽיִם׃

לְכֽוּ־ שִׁמְע֣וּ וַ֭אֲסַפְּרָה כָּל־ יִרְאֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר עָשָׂ֣ה לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃

yuuyaM dhuurSu prayujo na rashmibhir jyotiSmanto na bhaasaa vyu\STiSu

A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

ava te heLo varuNa namobhir ava yaj~nebhir iimahe havirbhiH

tvam maayaabhir apa maayino .adhamaH svadhaabhir ye adhi shuptaav ajuhvata

It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.

The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.

And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying,

εἶπεν· Τί θέλετέ μοι δοῦναι κἀγὼ ὑμῖν παραδώσω αὐτόν; οἱ δὲ ἔστησαν αὐτῷ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια.

If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
