וַיָּ֖מָת חֲזָאֵ֣ל מֶֽלֶךְ־ אֲרָ֑ם וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ בֶּן־ הֲדַ֥ד בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע רְאוּבֵ֔ן וַיַּצִּלֵ֖הוּ מִיָּדָ֑ם וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לֹ֥א נַכֶּ֖נּוּ נָֽפֶשׁ׃

בְּנֵ֣י זַתּ֔וּא שְׁמֹנֶ֥ה מֵא֖וֹת אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃

akro na babhriH samithe mahiinaaM didRkSeyaH suunave bhaaRjiikaH

A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

ud gaa aajad abhinad brahmaNaa valam aguuhat tamo vy a\cakSayat sva\H

He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.

ἦν γὰρ διδάσκων αὐτοὺς ὡς ἐξουσίαν ἔχων καὶ οὐχ ὡς οἱ γραμματεῖς ⸀αὐτῶν.

I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ φιλεῖ ὑμᾶς, ὅτι ὑμεῖς ἐμὲ πεφιλήκατε καὶ πεπιστεύκατε ὅτι ἐγὼ παρὰ τοῦ ⸀θεοῦ ἐξῆλθον.
