בְּנֵ֖י יוֹאֵ֑ל שְׁמַֽעְיָ֥ה בְנ֛וֹ גּ֥וֹג בְּנ֖וֹ שִׁמְעִ֥י בְנֽוֹ׃

וַתִּבְטְחִ֣י בְיָפְיֵ֔ךְ וַתִּזְנִ֖י עַל־ שְׁמֵ֑ךְ וַתִּשְׁפְּכִ֧י אֶת־ תַּזְנוּתַ֛יִךְ עַל־ כָּל־ עוֹבֵ֖ר לוֹ־ יֶֽהִי׃

עָזַ֥ב כַּכְּפִ֖יר סֻכּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־ הָיְתָ֤ה אַרְצָם֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה מִפְּנֵי֙ חֲר֣וֹן הַיּוֹנָ֔ה וּמִפְּנֵ֖י חֲר֥וֹן אַפּֽוֹ׃

כֻּלֹּה֙ לְחָמָ֣ס יָב֔וֹא מְגַמַּ֥ת פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם קָדִ֑ימָה וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף כַּח֖וֹל שֶֽׁבִי׃

בְּעָמְדָ֣ם יַעֲמֹ֔דוּ וּבְרוֹמָ֖ם יֵר֣וֹמּוּ אוֹתָ֑ם כִּ֛י ר֥וּחַ הַחַיָּ֖ה בָּהֶֽם׃

קָר֣וֹב יְ֭הוָה לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־ לֵ֑ב וְֽאֶת־ דַּכְּאֵי־ ר֥וּחַ יוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃

וְכִֽי־ יִהְיֶ֣ה בְאִ֗ישׁ חֵ֛טְא מִשְׁפַּט־ מָ֖וֶת וְהוּמָ֑ת וְתָלִ֥יתָ אֹת֖וֹ עַל־ עֵֽץ׃

וַיְהִ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם וַיָּ֣בֹא שָׁ֑מָּה וַיָּ֥סַר אֶל־ הָעֲלִיָּ֖ה וַיִּשְׁכַּב־ שָֽׁמָּה׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ מַה־ לָּ֖ךְ אֶסְתֵּ֣ר הַמַּלְכָּ֑ה וּמַה־ בַּקָּשָׁתֵ֛ךְ עַד־ חֲצִ֥י הַמַּלְכ֖וּת וְיִנָּ֥תֵֽן לָֽךְ׃

οὔτε εἰς γῆν οὔτε εἰς κοπρίαν εὔθετόν ἐστιν· ἔξω βάλλουσιν αὐτό. ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω.

Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.

And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
