וַיִּתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּתוֹךְ־ אֲרָי֖וֹת כְּפִ֣יר הָיָ֑ה וַיִּלְמַ֥ד לִטְרָף־ טֶ֖רֶף אָדָ֥ם אָכָֽל׃

אֶלְקָנָ֑ה בנו בְּנֵי֙ אֶלְקָנָ֔ה צוֹפַ֥י בְּנ֖וֹ וְנַ֥חַת בְּנֽוֹ׃

הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָזָ֔ה יְשַֽׁעְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־ אָמ֑וֹץ עַל־ יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

וָאֹמַ֕ר לַבָּלָ֖ה נִֽאוּפִ֑ים עת עַתָּ֛ה יזנה יִזְנ֥וּ תַזְנוּתֶ֖הָ וָהִֽיא׃

וַיִּקְח֖וּ אֶת־ כְּתֹ֣נֶת יוֹסֵ֑ף וַֽיִּשְׁחֲטוּ֙ שְׂעִ֣יר עִזִּ֔ים וַיִּטְבְּל֥וּ אֶת־ הַכֻּתֹּ֖נֶת בַּדָּֽם׃

Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?

οὕτως οὖν πᾶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ὃς οὐκ ἀποτάσσεται πᾶσιν τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ὑπάρχουσιν οὐ δύναται ⸂εἶναί μου⸃ μαθητής.

sasavaan staulaabhir dhautariibhir uruSyaa paayur abhavat sakhibhyaH

وَمَنْ لَا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءُ أُولَئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ

But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

وَكَذَلِكَ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ بَعْدَمَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ

The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.

And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
