וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה בְּיַד־ עֲבָדָ֥יו הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים לֵאמֹֽר׃

וַיְהִ֗י בִּימֵי֙ אַמְרָפֶ֣ל מֶֽלֶךְ־ שִׁנְעָ֔ר אַרְי֖וֹךְ מֶ֣לֶךְ אֶלָּסָ֑ר כְּדָרְלָעֹ֙מֶר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ עֵילָ֔ם וְתִדְעָ֖ל מֶ֥לֶךְ גּוֹיִֽם׃

וְהָֽעַוִּ֛ים הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים בַּחֲצֵרִ֖ים עַד־ עַזָּ֑ה כַּפְתֹּרִים֙ הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים מִכַּפְתּ֔וֹר הִשְׁמִידֻ֖ם וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ תַחְתָּֽם׃

מַשְׂכִּ֣יל עַל־ דָּ֭בָר יִמְצָא־ ט֑וֹב וּבוֹטֵ֖חַ בַּיהוָ֣ה אַשְׁרָֽיו׃

וְעַ֣ל ׀ גְּב֣וּל מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה מִפְּאַ֥ת קָדִ֛מָה עַד־ פְּאַת־ יָ֖מָּה אֶפְרַ֥יִם אֶחָֽד׃

And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

وَاذْكُرْ رَبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.

Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
