וַיִּפְקֹ֣ד דָּוִ֔ד אֶת־ הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֑וֹ וַיָּ֣שֶׂם עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם שָׂרֵ֥י אֲלָפִ֖ים וְשָׂרֵ֥י מֵאֽוֹת׃

וַיְקֹנֵ֥ן הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ אֶל־ אַבְנֵ֖ר וַיֹּאמַ֑ר הַכְּמ֥וֹת נָבָ֖ל יָמ֥וּת אַבְנֵֽר׃

בֶּן־ אֲבִֽינָדָ֖ב כָּל־ נָ֣פַת דֹּ֑אר טָפַת֙ בַּת־ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה הָ֥יְתָה לּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃

And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?

O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
