יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר ׀ לֹ֥א זָכַר֮ עֲשׂ֢וֹת חָ֥סֶד וַיִּרְדֹּ֡ף אִישׁ־ עָנִ֣י וְ֭אֶבְיוֹן וְנִכְאֵ֨ה לֵבָ֬ב לְמוֹתֵֽת׃

וַיֹּ֧אמֶר ל֣וֹ פַרְעֹ֗ה כִּ֠י מָה־ אַתָּ֤ה חָסֵר֙ עִמִּ֔י וְהִנְּךָ֥ מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ לָלֶ֣כֶת אֶל־ אַרְצֶ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֣אמֶֽר ׀ לֹ֔א כִּ֥י שַׁלֵּ֖חַ תְּשַׁלְּחֵֽנִי׃

עֲלֽוּ־ אֵלַ֣י וְעִזְרֻ֔נִי וְנַכֶּ֖ה אֶת־ גִּבְע֑וֹן כִּֽי־ הִשְׁלִ֥ימָה אֶת־ יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ וְאֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

וְאֶת־ בִּלְעָ֥ם בֶּן־ בְּע֖וֹר הַקּוֹסֵ֑ם הָרְג֧וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בַּחֶ֖רֶב אֶל־ חַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לֹֽא־ תוֹסִ֥יפִי ע֖וֹד לַעְל֑וֹז הַֽמְעֻשָּׁקָ֞ה בְּתוּלַ֣ת בַּת־ צִיד֗וֹן כתיים כִּתִּים֙ ק֣וּמִי עֲבֹ֔רִי גַּם־ שָׁ֖ם לֹא־ יָנ֥וּחַֽ לָֽךְ׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ מַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהוָ֔ה הִנָּ֥ךְ הָרָ֖ה וְיֹלַ֣דְתְּ בֵּ֑ן וְקָרָ֤את שְׁמוֹ֙ יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אל כִּֽי־ שָׁמַ֥ע יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ עָנְיֵֽךְ׃

וְהָיְתָ֨ה חָצ֜וֹר לִמְע֥וֹן תַּנִּ֛ים שְׁמָמָ֖ה עַד־ עוֹלָ֑ם לֹֽא־ יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־ יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־ אָדָֽם׃
