וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר חָזְקָ֥ה הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה בְּיָד֑וֹ וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־ עֲבָדָ֔יו הַמַּכִּ֖ים אֶת־ הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ אָבִֽיו׃

הֲצֹ֧אן וּבָקָ֛ר יִשָּׁחֵ֥ט לָהֶ֖ם וּמָצָ֣א לָהֶ֑ם אִ֣ם אֶֽת־ כָּל־ דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֛ם יֵאָסֵ֥ף לָהֶ֖ם וּמָצָ֥א לָהֶֽם׃

וַיִּקַּ֣ח דָּוִ֔ד אֶת־ כָּל־ הַצֹּ֖אן וְהַבָּקָ֑ר נָהֲג֗וּ לִפְנֵי֙ הַמִּקְנֶ֣ה הַה֔וּא וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ זֶ֖ה שְׁלַ֥ל דָּוִֽד׃

וְעַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אַתָּה־ ה֖וּא הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתְּדַבֵּר֙ עַֽל־ עַבְדְּךָ֔ הַטּוֹבָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃

וַֽתַּחֲבֹשׁ֙ הָֽאָת֔וֹן וַתֹּ֥אמֶר אֶֽל־ נַעֲרָ֖הּ נְהַ֣ג וָלֵ֑ךְ אַל־ תַּעֲצָר־ לִ֣י לִרְכֹּ֔ב כִּ֖י אִם־ אָמַ֥רְתִּי לָֽךְ׃

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
