וַיֵּ֣דַע דָּוִ֔ד כִּ֣י עָלָ֔יו שָׁא֖וּל מַחֲרִ֣ישׁ הָרָעָ֑ה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ אֶבְיָתָ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן הַגִּ֖ישָׁה הָאֵפֽוֹד׃

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוּדָ֖ה אֶל־ אֶחָ֑יו מַה־ בֶּ֗צַע כִּ֤י נַהֲרֹג֙ אֶת־ אָחִ֔ינוּ וְכִסִּ֖ינוּ אֶת־ דָּמֽוֹ׃

אֵ֚לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י בִלְהָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥ן לָבָ֖ן לְרָחֵ֣ל בִּתּ֑וֹ וַתֵּ֧לֶד אֶת־ אֵ֛לֶּה לְיַעֲקֹ֖ב כָּל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ שִׁבְעָֽה׃
