Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

pra yad agneH sahasvato vishvato yanti bhaanavaH

Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

agne tava tye ajarendhaanaaso bRhad bhaaH

yasmaa anye dasha prati dhuraM vahanti vahnayaH

Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

ichanti devaaH sunvantaM na svapnaaya spRhayanti

aa te vatso mano yamat paramaac cit sadhasthaat

ud asya shocir asthaad aajuhvaanasya miiLhuSaH

yad adya sthaH paraavati yad arvaavaty ashvinaa

idaM vaam aasye\ haviH priyam indraabRhaspatii

marmRjaanaasa aayavo vRthaa samudram indavaH

yasyaamitaani viiryaaaa\ na raadhaH paryetave

naanaanaM vaa u no dhiyo vi vrataani janaanaam
