maha ugraaya tavase suvRktim preraya shivatamaaya pashvaH

nahi tvad anyan maghavan na aapyaM vasyo asti pitaa cana

And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,

Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

anu maataram pRthiviiM vi vaavRte tasthau naakasya saanavi

uta gnaa vyantu devapatniir indraaNy a\gnaayy ashvinii raaT

A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

mahi psaraH sukRtaM somyam madhuurvii gavyuutir aditer RtaM yate

yad dha kraaNaa vivasvati naabhaa saMdaayi navyasii

The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.

iSaNyayaa naH pururuupam aa bhara vaajaM nediSTham uutaye

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

aa no dyumnair aa shravobhir aa raayaa yaatam ashvinaa

And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
