Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

na tasya vidma tad u Su pra vocata yuvaa ha yad yuvatyaaH kSeti yoniSu

iiLenyo vapuSyo\ vibhaavaa priyo vishaam atithir maanuSiiNaam

na me stotaamatiivaa na durhitaH syaad agne na paapayaa

tvaM samudram prathamo vi dhaarayo devebhyaH soma matsaraH

ayaM hotaa prathamaH pashyatemam idaM jyotir amRtam martyeSu

O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

mandro yajiSTho adhvareSv iiDyo viprebhiH shukra manmabhiH

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

na tvad anyo maghavann asti marDitendra braviimi te vacaH
