tava tyad indriyam bRhat tava shuSmam uta kratum

satto hotaa na Rtviyas tistire barhir aanuSak

brahma prajaavad aa bhara jaatavedo vicarSaNe

iLaa sarasvatii mahii tisro deviir mayobhuvaH

vaavasaanaa vivasvati somasya piityaa giraa

araayya\m brahmaNas pate tiikSNashRNgodRSann ihi

Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

yatraanandaash ca modaash ca mudaH pramuda aasate

iiLiSvaa hi pratiivya\M yajasva jaatavedasam
