Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

ubhe bhadre joSayete na mene gaavo na vaashraa upa tasthur evaiH

tvaM vRdha indra puurvyo bhuur varivasyann ushane kaavyaaya

naaveva naH paarayataM yugeva nabhyeva na upadhiiva pradhiiva

vayam agne vanuyaama tvotaa vasuuyavo haviSaa budhyamaanaaH

Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt:

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

dhartaaraa carSaNiinaaM yantaM sumnaM rishaadasaa

bahuuni me akRtaa kartvaani yudhyai tvena saM tvena pRchai

vidmaa hy a\sya bhojanam inasya yad aa pashuM na gopaaH karaamahe

yo martyaH shishiite aty aktubhir maa naH sa ripur iishata

mitro no atra varuNash ca puuSaaryo vashasya paryetaasti

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

upa tvemaH kRdhi no bhaagadheyaM shuSmaM ta enaa haviSaa vidhema

kuvin no asya sumatir naviiyasy achaa vaajebhir aagamat

At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
