naktaM ya iim aruSo yo divaa nRRn amartyo aruSo yo divaa nRRn

On the sixth day Eliasaph the son of Deuel, prince of the children of Gad, offered:

A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

adrogha satyaM tava tan mahitvaM sadyo yaj jaato apibo ha somam

If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

eSa sya te tanvo\ nRmNavardhanaH saha ojaH pradivi baahvor hitaH

yasya te piitvaa vRSabho vRSaayate .asya piitaa svarvidaH

Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?

And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

jarayantii vRjanam padvad iiyata ut paatayati pakSiNaH

adhaa hotaa ny a\siido yajiiyaan iLas pada iSayann iiDyaH san

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

devasya pashya kaavyam mahitvaadyaa mamaara sa hyaH sam aana

And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

baadhataaM dveSo abhayaM kRNotu suviiryasya patayaH syaama

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

maakir neshan maakiiM riSan maakiiM saM shaari kevaTe

But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

avatu devy aditir anarvaa bRhad vadema vidathe suviiraaH

apejate shuuro asteva shatruun baadhate tamo ajiro na voLhaa
