וַיִּגְּשׁ֤וּ אֵלָיו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ גִּדְרֹ֥ת צֹ֛אן נִבְנֶ֥ה לְמִקְנֵ֖נוּ פֹּ֑ה וְעָרִ֖ים לְטַפֵּֽנוּ׃
וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־ הַשַּׁ֗עַר מִגַּ֤ג הַתָּא֙ לְגַגּ֔וֹ רֹ֕חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְחָמֵ֖שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת פֶּ֖תַח נֶ֥גֶד פָּֽתַח׃
שְׁתֵּ֣י יָד֗וֹת לַקֶּ֙רֶשׁ֙ הָאֶחָ֔ד מְשֻׁלָּבֹ֔ת אִשָּׁ֖ה אֶל־ אֲחֹתָ֑הּ כֵּ֣ן תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה לְכֹ֖ל קַרְשֵׁ֥י הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃
וַתִּשָּׂאֵ֣נִי ר֔וּחַ וַתְּבִיאֵ֕נִי אֶל־ הֶֽחָצֵ֖ר הַפְּנִימִ֑י וְהִנֵּ֛ה מָלֵ֥א כְבוֹד־ יְהוָ֖ה הַבָּֽיִת׃
וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ מִבְצַר־ צֹ֔ר וְכָל־ עָרֵ֥י הַחִוִּ֖י וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י וַיֵּֽצְא֛וּ אֶל־ נֶ֥גֶב יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃
לֹֽא־ תֵחַ֤ד אִתָּם֙ בִּקְבוּרָ֔ה כִּֽי־ אַרְצְךָ֥ שִׁחַ֖תָּ עַמְּךָ֣ הָרָ֑גְתָּ לֹֽא־ יִקָּרֵ֥א לְעוֹלָ֖ם זֶ֥רַע מְרֵעִֽים׃
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר חַי־ יְהוָ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־ עָמַ֥דְתִּי לְפָנָ֖יו אִם־ אֶקָּ֑ח וַיִּפְצַר־ בּ֥וֹ לָקַ֖חַת וַיְמָאֵֽן׃
וְיָשִׂ֥ימוּ בֵֽאלֹהִ֗ים כִּ֫סְלָ֥ם וְלֹ֣א יִ֭שְׁכְּחוּ מַֽעַלְלֵי אֵ֑ל וּמִצְוֺתָ֥יו יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כְּתֽוֹעֲבֹת֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ הוֹרִ֣ישׁ יְהוָ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

sanaad divam pari bhuumaa viruupe punarbhuvaa yuvatii svebhir evaiH
avyo vaarebhir uta devahuutibhir nRbhir yato vaajam aa darSi saataye
rathaM kam aahur dravadashvam aashuM yaM suuryasya duhitaavRNiita
ardhaM viirasya shRtapaam anindram paraa shardhantaM nunude abhi kSaam
yasmin sujaataa subhagaa mahiiyate sacaa marutsu miiLhuSii
pra skambhadeSNaa anavabhraraadhaso .alaatRNaaso vidatheSu suSTutaaH

nuunaM saa te prati varaM jaritre duhiiyad indra dakSiNaa maghonii

maakir no asya pariSuutir iishatendo jayema tvayaa dhanaM-dhanam
dhenuur jinvatam uta jinvataM visho hataM rakSaaMsi sedhatam amiivaaH
varuNa id iha kSayat tam aapo abhy a\nuuSata vatsaM saMshishvariir iva
prayantam it pari jaaraM kaniinaam pashyaamasi nopanipadyamaanam
taabhir daashvaaMsam avataM shubhas patii yo vaam adabdho abhi paati cittibhiH
dhiyo ratheSThaam ajaraM naviiyo rayir vibhuutir iiyate vacasyaa
τοῖο μὲν Αὐτομέδων δουρικλυτὸς εὕρετο τέκμωρ·
ὅπου γὰρ ζῆλος καὶ ἐριθεία, ἐκεῖ ἀκαταστασία καὶ πᾶν φαῦλον πρᾶγμα.
ὣς φάτο, τὸν δʼ οὔ τι προσέφη κορυθαίολος Ἕκτωρ,
καὶ πάλιν ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο τὸν αὐτὸν λόγον εἰπών.
ὣς εἰπὼν ὑπʼ ὄχεσφι τιτύσκετο χαλκόποδʼ ἵππω
ὣς φάτο, τὸν δʼ οὔ τι προσέφη κορυθαίολος Ἕκτωρ·
τοὺς δʼ Ἕκτωρ ἐνόησε κατὰ στίχας, ὦρτο δʼ ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς
قَالَ هِيَ عَصَايَ أَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهَا وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَى غَنَمِي وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَآرِبُ أُخْرَى
وَالَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُولَئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ
