וַיִּתֵּן֙ בְּיַד־ עֲבָדָ֔יו עֵ֥דֶר עֵ֖דֶר לְבַדּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־ עֲבָדָיו֙ עִבְר֣וּ לְפָנַ֔י וְרֶ֣וַח תָּשִׂ֔ימוּ בֵּ֥ין עֵ֖דֶר וּבֵ֥ין עֵֽדֶר׃
בְּמִסְפַּר֙ כָּל־ זָכָ֔ר מִבֶּן־ חֹ֖דֶשׁ וָמָ֑עְלָה שְׁמֹנַ֤ת אֲלָפִים֙ וְשֵׁ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃
וַיְהִ֨י בְמָלְכ֜וֹ כְּשִׁבְתּ֣וֹ עַל־ כִּסְא֗וֹ הִכָּה֙ אֶת־ כָּל־ בֵּ֣ית בַּעְשָׁ֔א לֹֽא־ הִשְׁאִ֥יר ל֖וֹ מַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֑יר וְגֹאֲלָ֖יו וְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃
וַֽיְחִי־ עֵ֗בֶר אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־ פֶּ֔לֶג שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
וַיֶּעְתַּ֨ר יִצְחָ֤ק לֽ͏ַיהוָה֙ לְנֹ֣כַח אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ כִּ֥י עֲקָרָ֖ה הִ֑וא וַיֵּעָ֤תֶר לוֹ֙ יְהוָ֔ה וַתַּ֖הַר רִבְקָ֥ה אִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃
וייחל וַיּ֣וֹחֶל ׀ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֗ים לַמּוֹעֵד֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וְלֹא־ בָ֥א שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל וַיָּ֥פֶץ הָעָ֖ם מֵעָלָֽיו׃
מִֽהְיוֹתָ֥ם בָּא֙ אֶל־ עֲרֵמַ֣ת עֶשְׂרִ֔ים וְהָיְתָ֖ה עֲשָׂרָ֑ה בָּ֣א אֶל־ הַיֶּ֗קֶב לַחְשֹׂף֙ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים פּוּרָ֔ה וְהָיְתָ֖ה עֶשְׂרִֽים׃
עַ֣ל כָּל־ גַּגּ֥וֹת מוֹאָ֛ב וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֖יהָ כֻּלֹּ֣ה מִסְפֵּ֑ד כִּֽי־ שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי אֶת־ מוֹאָ֗ב כִּכְלִ֛י אֵֽין־ חֵ֥פֶץ בּ֖וֹ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃
וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ דָּוִ֛ד מִשָּׁ֖ם מִצְפֵּ֣ה מוֹאָ֑ב וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ אֶל־ מֶ֣לֶךְ מוֹאָ֗ב יֵֽצֵא־ נָ֞א אָבִ֤י וְאִמִּי֙ אִתְּכֶ֔ם עַ֚ד אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֵדַ֔ע מַה־ יַּֽעֲשֶׂה־ לִּ֖י אֱלֹהִֽים׃
And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness:
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
putro yat puurvaH pitror janiSTa shamyaaM gaur jagaara yad dha pRchaan
rayir na citraa suuro na saMdRg aayur na praaNo nityo na suunuH
kasyemaaM deviim amRteSu preSThaaM hRdi shreSaama suSTutiM suhavyaam
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حَدِيثًا
