וַיְצַוֵּ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר זֶ֥ה הַדָּבָ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּעֲשׂ֑וּן הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֤ית מִכֶּם֙ בָּאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת וְשֹׁ֣מְרֵ֔י מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
וָאָעִ֣ידָה בָהֶ֗ם וָאֹמְרָ֤ה אֲלֵיהֶם֙ מַדּ֜וּעַ אַתֶּ֤ם לֵנִים֙ נֶ֣גֶד הַחוֹמָ֔ה אִם־ תִּשְׁנ֕וּ יָ֖ד אֶשְׁלַ֣ח בָּכֶ֑ם מִן־ הָעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא לֹא־ בָ֖אוּ בַּשַׁבָּֽת׃
וְלֹֽא־ דִבֶּ֧ר אַבְשָׁל֛וֹם עִם־ אַמְנ֖וֹן לְמֵרָ֣ע וְעַד־ ט֑וֹב כִּֽי־ שָׂנֵ֤א אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ אֶת־ אַמְנ֔וֹן עַל־ דְּבַר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִנָּ֔ה אֵ֖ת תָּמָ֥ר אֲחֹתֽוֹ׃
בֶּן־ אָדָ֗ם הָאֲנָשִׁ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ הֶעֱל֤וּ גִלּֽוּלֵיהֶם֙ עַל־ לִבָּ֔ם וּמִכְשׁ֣וֹל עֲוֺנָ֔ם נָתְנ֖וּ נֹ֣כַח פְּנֵיהֶ֑ם הַאִדָּרֹ֥שׁ אִדָּרֵ֖שׁ לָהֶֽם׃
וַתֹּ֖אמֶר ר֣וּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּ֑ה גַּ֣ם ׀ כִּי־ אָמַ֣ר אֵלַ֗י עִם־ הַנְּעָרִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־ לִי֙ תִּדְבָּקִ֔ין עַ֣ד אִם־ כִּלּ֔וּ אֵ֥ת כָּל־ הַקָּצִ֖יר אֲשֶׁר־ לִֽי׃
And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,
And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.

And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
