עֲֽ֭צַבֵּיהֶם כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֑ב מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָֽם׃
לָכֵ֗ן יַ֭כִּיר מַעְבָּֽדֵיהֶ֑ם וְהָ֥פַךְ לַ֝֗יְלָה וְיִדַּכָּֽאוּ׃
אָהַ֥בְתָּ כָֽל־ דִּבְרֵי־ בָ֗לַע לְשׁ֣וֹן מִרְמָֽה׃
שִׁ֣ירוּ לַ֭יהוָה בָּרֲכ֣וּ שְׁמ֑וֹ בַּשְּׂר֥וּ מִיּֽוֹם־ לְ֝י֗וֹם יְשׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃
וַיִּזְכֹּ֣ר לָהֶ֣ם בְּרִית֑וֹ וַ֝יִּנָּחֵ֗ם כְּרֹ֣ב חסדו חֲסָדָֽיו׃
וְהָלְכ֥וּ גוֹיִ֖ם לְאוֹרֵ֑ךְ וּמְלָכִ֖ים לְנֹ֥גַהּ זַרְחֵֽךְ׃
תִּזְרַ֣ח הַ֭שֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵאָסֵפ֑וּן וְאֶל־ מְ֝עוֹנֹתָ֗ם יִרְבָּצֽוּן׃
כִּֽי־ אַתָּ֥ה נֵירִ֖י יְהוָ֑ה וַיהוָ֖ה יַגִּ֥יהַּ חָשְׁכִּֽי׃
וְאֵ֛לֶּה שְׁמ֥וֹת בְּֽנֵי־ גֵרְשׁ֖וֹם לִבְנִ֥י וְשִׁמְעִֽי׃
They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

ubjantu taM subhva\H parvataaso ni hiiyataam atiyaajasya yaSTaa
καὶ ὁ ὀμόσας ἐν τῷ ναῷ ὀμνύει ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐν τῷ ⸀κατοικοῦντι αὐτόν·
τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με περὶ ἁμαρτίας; ⸀εἰ ἀλήθειαν λέγω, διὰ τί ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι;
καὶ βάλεν, οὐδʼ ἄρα μιν ἅλιον βέλος ἔκφυγε χειρός,
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنْفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قَوَامًا
فَلَمَّا آتَاهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ بَخِلُوا بِهِ وَتَوَلَّوْا وَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نُهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا
