ἀντία Πηλεΐωνος ἰὼν ἀνὰ οὐλαμὸν ἀνδρῶν·
μὴ τοὶ μὲν καμάτῳ ἀδηκότες ἠδὲ καὶ ὕπνῳ
ἢ κακὸς ἢ ἀγαθός· Ζεὺς δʼ ἔμπης πάντʼ ἰθύνει·
διογενὴς Εὐαιμονίδης κατὰ μηρὸν ὀϊστῷ
νηὸν Ἀθηναίης γλαυκώπιδος ἐν πόλει ἄκρῃ
Ἥρην δὲ προσέειπε κασιγνήτην ἄλοχόν τε·
ἔνθα Πυλαιμένεα ἑλέτην ἀτάλαντον Ἄρηϊ
Χρυσόθεμις καὶ Λαοδίκη καὶ Ἰφιάνασσα,
ὤμων μεσσηγύς, διὰ δὲ στήθεσφιν ἔλασσε,
Πηλεὺς μὲν ᾧ παιδὶ γέρων ἐπέτελλʼ Ἀχιλῆϊ
ἀσχαλάᾳ σὺν νηῒ πολυζύγῳ, ὅν περ ἄελλαι
ὣς οἵ γʼ ἐν νηῶν ἀγύρει μήτηρ τε καὶ υἱὸς
χωομένου Ἀχιλῆος ἔβης κλισίηθεν ἀπούρας
ὦ φίλοι οἷον δὴ θαυμάζομεν Ἕκτορα δῖον
Αἴας διογενὴς προΐει δολιχόσκιον ἔγχος,
ὄφρά οἱ αὐτόματοι θεῖον δυσαίατʼ ἀγῶνα
τὴν αὐτοῦ φιλέει καὶ κήδεται, ὡς καὶ ἐγὼ τὴν
ἠνώγει Πρίαμός τε καὶ ἄλλοι Τρῶες ἀγαυοὶ
Τυδεΐδῃ μιν ἔγωγε δαΐφρονι πάντα ἐΐσκω,
υἱός θʼ υἱωνός τε Διὸς νεφεληγερέταο,
ἐν δʼ ἐτίθει δύο κῆρε τανηλεγέος θανάτοιο
Ἀργεῖοι κατὰ μοῖραν ἀκούοντες βασιλῆος.
ὤμων μεσσηγύς, διὰ δὲ στήθεσφιν ἔλασσε,
وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
