My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?

Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.

apo vaa gacha yadi tatra te hitam oSadhiiSu prati tiSThaa shariiraiH
areNavas tuvijaataa acucyavur dRLhaani cin maruto bhraajadRSTayaH
iiyur arthaM na nyartham paruSNiim aashush caned abhipitvaM jagaama
so cin nu sakhyaa narya ina stutash carkRtya indro maavate nare
yat puurvyam maruto yac ca nuutanaM yad udyate vasavo yac ca shasyate
tam pRchanto .avaraasaH paraaNi pratnaa ta indra shrutyaanu yemuH
dhaatur dyutaanaat savitush ca viSNo rathaMtaram aa jabhaaraa vasiSThaH
tvam agne pururuupo vishe -vishe vayo dadhaasi pratnathaa puruSTuta
vishvebhir devair anumadyamaanaH pra parjanyam iirayaa vRSTimantam
tava tridhaatu pRthivii uta dyaur vaishvaanara vratam agne sacanta
ekaacetat sarasvatii nadiinaaM shucir yatii giribhya aa samudraat
tayor yat satyaM yatarad Rjiiyas tad it somo .avati hanty aasat
asuurte suurte rajasi niSatte ye bhuutaani samakRNvann imaani
atyaM na mihe vi nayanti vaajinam utsaM duhanti stanayantam akSitam
pra tavyasiiM navyasiiM dhiitim agnaye vaaco matiM sahasaH suunave bhare
saMkrandanenaanimiSeNa jiSNunaa yutkaareNa dushcyavanena dhRSNunaa
bharataam apa yad rapo dyauH pRthivi kSamaa rapo mo Su te kiM canaamamat
divo na saanu stanayann acikradad dyaush ca yasya pRthivii ca dharmabhiH
te maa rakSantu visrasash caritraad uta maa sraamaad yavayantv indavaH
aa tiSTha rathaM vRSaNaM vRSaa te sutaH somaH pariSiktaa madhuuni
Ἀλλὰ ἐρεῖ τις· Πῶς ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροί, ποίῳ δὲ σώματι ἔρχονται;
ὃς ἐν νόμῳ καυχᾶσαι, διὰ τῆς παραβάσεως τοῦ νόμου τὸν θεὸν ἀτιμάζεις;
قُلْ لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدِي مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِ لَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالظَّالِمِينَ
وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِنْ دُونِهِمْ بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ أَكْثَرُهُمْ بِهِمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كَافَّةً لِلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِنْ وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ وَلِيًّا
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
