וַיְהִ֗י כִּֽי־ חָטְא֤וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם הַמַּעֲלֶ֤ה אֹתָם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִתַּ֕חַת יַ֖ד פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־ מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃
וַיָּקָם֩ דָּוִ֨ד וַאֲנָשָׁ֜יו כְּשֵׁשׁ־ מֵא֣וֹת אִ֗ישׁ וַיֵּצְאוּ֙ מִקְּעִלָ֔ה וַיִּֽתְהַלְּכ֖וּ בַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יִתְהַלָּ֑כוּ וּלְשָׁא֣וּל הֻגַּ֗ד כִּֽי־ נִמְלַ֤ט דָּוִד֙ מִקְּעִילָ֔ה וַיֶּחְדַּ֖ל לָצֵֽאת׃
וַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים כִּי־ מָשְׁח֨וּ אֶת־ דָּוִ֤ד לְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙ עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּעֲל֥וּ כָל־ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים לְבַקֵּ֣שׁ אֶת־ דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע דָּוִ֔ד וַיֵּ֖רֶד אֶל־ הַמְּצוּדָֽה׃
וּבָ֣אנוּ אֵלָ֗יו באחת בְּאַחַ֤ד הַמְּקוֹמֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצָ֣א שָׁ֔ם וְנַ֣חְנוּ עָלָ֔יו כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר יִפֹּ֥ל הַטַּ֖ל עַל־ הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־ נ֥וֹתַר בּ֛וֹ וּבְכָל־ הָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־ אִתּ֖וֹ גַּם־ אֶחָֽד׃
כֻּלָּ֤ם הַבְּרוּרִים֙ לְשֹׁעֲרִ֣ים בַּסִּפִּ֔ים מָאתַ֖יִם וּשְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֑ר הֵ֤מָּה בְחַצְרֵיהֶם֙ הִתְיַחְשָׂ֔ם הֵ֣מָּה יִסַּ֥ד דָּוִ֛יד וּשְׁמוּאֵ֥ל הָרֹאֶ֖ה בֶּאֱמוּנָתָֽם׃
וּמִן־ הַדָּ֞ם יִתֵּ֣ן ׀ עַל־ קַרְנֹ֣ת הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ אֲשֶׁר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְאֵ֣ת כָּל־ הַדָּ֗ם יִשְׁפֹּךְ֙ אֶל־ יְסוֹד֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
וְרָאָה֩ הַכֹּהֵ֨ן אֶת־ הַנֶּ֜תֶק בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י וְ֠הִנֵּה לֹא־ פָשָׂ֤ה הַנֶּ֙תֶק֙ בָּע֔וֹר וּמַרְאֵ֕הוּ אֵינֶ֥נּוּ עָמֹ֖ק מִן־ הָע֑וֹר וְטִהַ֤ר אֹתוֹ֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְכִבֶּ֥ס בְּגָדָ֖יו וְטָהֵֽר׃
אַחֲרֵ֣י כָל־ זֹ֗את אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵכִ֤ין יֹֽאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ אֶת־ הַבַּ֔יִת עָלָ֞ה נְכ֧וֹ מֶֽלֶךְ־ מִצְרַ֛יִם לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם בְּכַרְכְּמִ֖ישׁ עַל־ פְּרָ֑ת וַיֵּצֵ֥א לִקְרָאת֖וֹ יֹאשִׁיָּֽהוּ׃
אַ֚ךְ דְּעִ֣י עֲוֺנֵ֔ךְ כִּ֛י בַּיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖יִךְ פָּשָׁ֑עַתְּ וַתְּפַזְּרִ֨י אֶת־ דְּרָכַ֜יִךְ לַזָּרִ֗ים תַּ֚חַת כָּל־ עֵ֣ץ רַעֲנָ֔ן וּבְקוֹלִ֥י לֹא־ שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהֹוָֽה׃
וְרֹ֣חַב הַפֶּתַח֮ עֶ֣שֶׂר אַמּוֹת֒ וְכִתְפ֣וֹת הַפֶּ֔תַח חָמֵ֤שׁ אַמּוֹת֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וְחָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפּ֑וֹ וַיָּ֤מָד אָרְכּוֹ֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים אַמָּ֔ה וְרֹ֖חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אַמָּֽה׃
וְעַתָּ֣ה חֲזַ֣ק זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל ׀ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֡ה וַחֲזַ֣ק יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בֶּן־ יְהוֹצָדָק֩ הַכֹּהֵ֨ן הַגָּד֜וֹל וַחֲזַ֨ק כָּל־ עַ֥ם הָאָ֛רֶץ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֖ה וַֽעֲשׂ֑וּ כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י אִתְּכֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
בַּהּ־ שַׁעֲתָ֗ה נפקו נְפַ֙קָה֙ אֶצְבְּעָן֙ דִּ֣י יַד־ אֱנָ֔שׁ וְכָֽתְבָן֙ לָקֳבֵ֣ל נֶבְרַשְׁתָּ֔א עַל־ גִּירָ֕א דִּֽי־ כְתַ֥ל הֵיכְלָ֖א דִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וּמַלְכָּ֣א חָזֵ֔ה פַּ֥ס יְדָ֖ה דִּ֥י כָתְבָֽה׃
שְׁפֹ֣ךְ חֲמָתְךָ֗ עַל־ הַגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־ יְדָע֔וּךָ וְעַל֙ מִשְׁפָּח֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּשִׁמְךָ֖ לֹ֣א קָרָ֑אוּ כִּֽי־ אָכְל֣וּ אֶֽת־ יַעֲקֹ֗ב וַאֲכָלֻ֙הוּ֙ וַיְכַלֻּ֔הוּ וְאֶת־ נָוֵ֖הוּ הֵשַֽׁמּוּ׃
וַיָּק֜וּמוּ כָּל־ אִ֣ישׁ חַיִל֮ וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ כָל־ הַלַּיְלָה֒ וַיִּקְח֞וּ אֶת־ גְּוִיַּ֣ת שָׁא֗וּל וְאֵת֙ גְּוִיֹּ֣ת בָּנָ֔יו מֵחוֹמַ֖ת בֵּ֣ית שָׁ֑ן וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ יָבֵ֔שָׁה וַיִּשְׂרְפ֥וּ אֹתָ֖ם שָֽׁם׃
וְכִֽי־ אֲנַ֤חְנוּ מְקַטְּרִים֙ לִמְלֶ֣כֶת הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ לָ֖הּ נְסָכִ֑ים הֲמִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י אֲנָשֵׁ֗ינוּ עָשִׂ֨ינוּ לָ֤הּ כַּוָּנִים֙ לְהַ֣עֲצִבָ֔הֿ וְהַסֵּ֥ךְ לָ֖הּ נְסָכִֽים׃
וְהָ֣יָה חֶ֗בֶל לִשְׁאֵרִ֛ית בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָ֖ה עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם יִרְע֑וּן בְּבָתֵּ֣י אַשְׁקְל֗וֹן בָּעֶ֙רֶב֙ יִרְבָּצ֔וּן כִּ֧י יִפְקְדֵ֛ם יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם וְשָׁ֥ב שבותם שְׁבִיתָֽם׃
וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ כָּל־ הַבָּ֣א עָלֵ֔ינוּ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֙ינוּ֙ הָרָעִ֔ים וּבְאַשְׁמָתֵ֖נוּ הַגְּדֹלָ֑ה כִּ֣י ׀ אַתָּ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ חָשַׂ֤כְתָּֽ לְמַ֙טָּה֙ מֵֽעֲוֺנֵ֔נוּ וְנָתַ֥תָּה לָּ֛נוּ פְּלֵיטָ֖ה כָּזֹֽאת׃
כִּי֩ ק֨וֹל כְּחוֹלָ֜ה שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי צָרָה֙ כְּמַבְכִּירָ֔ה ק֧וֹל בַּת־ צִיּ֛וֹן תִּתְיַפֵּ֖חַ תְּפָרֵ֣שׂ כַּפֶּ֑יהָ אֽוֹי־ נָ֣א לִ֔י כִּֽי־ עָיְפָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֖י לְהֹרְגִֽים׃
אַל־ תִּֽירְאִי֙ כִּי־ לֹ֣א תֵב֔וֹשִׁי וְאַל־ תִּכָּלְמִ֖י כִּ֣י לֹ֣א תַחְפִּ֑ירִי כִּ֣י בֹ֤שֶׁת עֲלוּמַ֙יִךְ֙ תִּשְׁכָּ֔חִי וְחֶרְפַּ֥ת אַלְמְנוּתַ֖יִךְ לֹ֥א תִזְכְּרִי־ עֽוֹד׃
וְהַבַּ֗יִת מָלֵ֤א הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ וְהַנָּשִׁ֔ים וְשָׁ֕מָּה כֹּ֖ל סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וְעַל־ הַגָּ֗ג כִּשְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת אֲלָפִים֙ אִ֣ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֔ה הָרֹאִ֖ים בִּשְׂח֥וֹק שִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃
וְדָוִ֣ד ׀ וְכָל־ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מְשַֽׂחֲקִים֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בְּכֹ֖ל עֲצֵ֣י בְרוֹשִׁ֑ים וּבְכִנֹּר֤וֹת וּבִנְבָלִים֙ וּבְתֻפִּ֔ים וּבִמְנַֽעַנְעִ֖ים וּֽבְצֶלְצֶלִֽים׃
And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.
And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
त्यक्त्वा कर्मफलासङ्गं नित्यतृप्तो निराश्रयः । कर्मण्यभिप्रवृत्तोऽपि नैव किञ्चित्करोति सः
Πίστει προσενήνοχεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸν Ἰσαὰκ πειραζόμενος, καὶ τὸν μονογενῆ προσέφερεν ὁ τὰς ἐπαγγελίας ἀναδεξάμενος,
καὶ ὅτι οὐ χρείαν εἶχεν ἵνα τις μαρτυρήσῃ περὶ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, αὐτὸς γὰρ ἐγίνωσκεν τί ἦν ἐν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ.
ἐὰν εἴπωμεν ὅτι κοινωνίαν ἔχομεν μετʼ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ σκότει περιπατῶμεν, ψευδόμεθα καὶ οὐ ποιοῦμεν τὴν ἀλήθειαν·
μαρτύρομαι δὲ πάλιν παντὶ ἀνθρώπῳ περιτεμνομένῳ ὅτι ὀφειλέτης ἐστὶν ὅλον τὸν νόμον ποιῆσαι.
