The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.
Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks.
The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.

vRtre vaa maho nRvati kSaye vaa vyacasvantaa yadi vitantasaite
ud usriyaa janitaa yo jajaanaapaaM garbho nRtamo yahvo agniH
ashmanvatii riiyate saM rabhadhvam ut tiSThata pra tarataa sakhaayaH
pra shyeno na madiram aMshum asmai shiro daasasya namucer mathaayan
uta tye maa dhvanya\sya juSTaa lakSmaNya\sya suruco yataanaaH
sunvadbhyo randhayaa kaM cid avrataM hRNaayantaM cid avratam
pra yaMsi hotar bRhatiir iSo no .agne mahi draviNam aa yajasva
rasaayyaH payasaa pinvamaana iirayann eSi madhumantam aMshum
purudaMsaa purutamaa puraajaamartyaa havate ashvinaa giiH
ashyaama tat saaptam aashuSaaNaa nanamo vadhar adevasya piiyoH
sa satyasatvan mahate raNaaya ratham aa tiSTha tuvinRmNa bhiimam
idaM su me jaritar aa cikiddhi pratiipaM shaapaM nadyo\ vahanti
κλέψαι δʼ ὀτρύνουσιν ἐΰσκοπον ἀργεϊφόντην·
καὶ τοῦ μέν ῥʼ ἀφάμαρτεν, ὃ δʼ ὑψηλὴν βάλεν ὄχθην,
Ἀντίλοχος δὲ μάλʼ ἄγχι παρίστατο ποιμένι λαῶν.
παυσάμενόν μιν ἄνωχθι μάχης ἠδὲ πτολέμοιο
ὡς σύ τʼ ἐϋφρήνῃς πάντας παρὰ νηυσὶν Ἀχαιούς,
Ζεὺς δʼ ἐπεὶ οὖν Τρῶάς τε καὶ Ἕκτορα νηυσὶ πέλασσε,
μαίνονθʼ, ὁππότʼ ἐγώ περ ἴω μετὰ μῶλον Ἄρηος.
τῇ ὅ γʼ ἐνὶ βλαφθεὶς πέσεν ὕπτιος, ἀμφὶ δὲ πήληξ
πάντῃ δʼ ἀμφὶ φάλαγγας ἐπειρᾶτο προποδίζων,
νοστήσαντα ἄνακτα· ὃ δʼ ἐς στρατὸν ᾤχετʼ Ἀχαιῶν.
τόφρα μάλʼ ἀμφοτέρων βέλεʼ ἥπτετο, πῖπτε δὲ λαός·
μαρναμένων, πολλοὶ δὲ διαμπερὲς ἀσπίδος αὐτῆς.
ὣς ὃ μὲν ἔνθα καθέζετʼ ἐπὶ θρόνου· οὐδέ μιν Ἥρη
ἵππους δʼ ἐξελάσας μεγαθύμου Τυδέος υἱὸς
εὖτέ με τυτθὸν ἐόντα Μενοίτιος ἐξ Ὀπόεντος
Ἥρῃ δʼ οὔ τι τόσον νεμεσίζεται οὐδὲ χολοῦται·
αἵ τʼ ἀπʼ ἐπισσώτρων. ὃ δὲ ἵετο δῦναι ὅμιλον
ἔστί τοι ἐν κλισίῃ χρυσὸς πολύς, ἔστι δὲ χαλκὸς
ἵππειον δέ οἱ ἦξε θεὰ ζυγόν· αἳ δέ οἱ ἵπποι
ἣ δʼ ἄρʼ Ὄλυμπον ἵκανε Διὸς ποτὶ χαλκοβατὲς δῶ,
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا
