λισσόμενος ἐπέεσσιν, ἀμείλικτον δʼ ὄπʼ ἄκουσε·
ὣς ἀπʼ Ἀχιλλῆος κεφαλῆς σέλας αἰθέρʼ ἵκανε·
Πηλεΐωνα δʼ ἵκανε θεὰ γλαυκῶπις Ἀθήνη,
ὣς ἔφαθʼ, οἳ δʼ ᾤμωξαν ἀολλέες, ἦρχε δʼ Ἀχιλλεύς.
ἦμος δʼ ἠριγένεια φάνη ῥοδοδάκτυλος Ἠώς,
μή πως καὶ Κρονίδης κεχολώσεται, αἴ κεν Ἀχιλλεὺς
καὶ καλὰς κνημῖδας ἐπισφυρίοις ἀραρυίας
ὠκύμορος δή μοι τέκος ἔσσεαι, οἷʼ ἀγορεύεις·
ἦμος δʼ ἠριγένεια φάνη ῥοδοδάκτυλος Ἠώς,
فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُمْ بِالْأُنْثَى ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
