הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־ הָיָ֥ה אֶֽל־ יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וּנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר מֶֽלֶךְ־ בָּבֶ֣ל ׀ וְכָל־ חֵיל֡וֹ וְכָל־ מַמְלְכ֣וֹת אֶרֶץ֩ מֶמְשֶׁ֨לֶת יָד֜וֹ וְכָל־ הָעַמִּ֗ים נִלְחָמִ֧ים עַל־ יְרוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם וְעַל־ כָּל־ עָרֶ֖יהָ לֵאמֹֽר׃
וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶל־ רֵעֵ֜הוּ לֹֽא־ כֵ֣ן ׀ אֲנַ֣חְנוּ עֹשִׂ֗ים הַיּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ יוֹם־ בְּשֹׂרָ֣ה ה֔וּא וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ מַחְשִׁ֗ים וְחִכִּ֛ינוּ עַד־ א֥וֹר הַבֹּ֖קֶר וּמְצָאָ֣נוּ עָו֑וֹן וְעַתָּה֙ לְכ֣וּ וְנָבֹ֔אָה וְנַגִּ֖ידָה בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־ דְּבַ֣ר אִישׁ־ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר קָרָ֤א עַל־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ בְּבֵֽית־ אֵ֔ל וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח יָרָבְעָ֧ם אֶת־ יָד֛וֹ מֵעַ֥ל הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ לֵאמֹ֣ר ׀ תִּפְשֻׂ֑הוּ וַתִּיבַ֤שׁ יָדוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁלַ֣ח עָלָ֔יו וְלֹ֥א יָכֹ֖ל לַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ אֵלָֽיו׃
Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
