וּבְכָל־ י֣וֹם וָי֔וֹם מָרְדֳּכַי֙ מִתְהַלֵּ֔ךְ לִפְנֵ֖י חֲצַ֣ר בֵּית־ הַנָּשִׁ֑ים לָדַ֙עַת֙ אֶת־ שְׁל֣וֹם אֶסְתֵּ֔ר וּמַה־ יֵּעָשֶׂ֖ה בָּֽהּ׃
קַ֣ח אֶת־ הַלְוִיִּ֗ם תַּ֤חַת כָּל־ בְּכוֹר֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת־ בֶּהֱמַ֥ת הַלְוִיִּ֖ם תַּ֣חַת בְּהֶמְתָּ֑ם וְהָיוּ־ לִ֥י הַלְוִיִּ֖ם אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
וּכְשָׁמְעִי֙ אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה קָרַ֥עְתִּי אֶת־ בִּגְדִ֖י וּמְעִילִ֑י וָאֶמְרְטָ֞ה מִשְּׂעַ֤ר רֹאשִׁי֙ וּזְקָנִ֔י וָאֵשְׁבָ֖ה מְשׁוֹמֵֽם׃
וַתָּבֹ֖אוּ אֶל־ הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וַיֵּצֵ֣א סִיחֹ֣ן מֶֽלֶךְ־ חֶ֠שְׁבּוֹן וְע֨וֹג מֶֽלֶךְ־ הַבָּשָׁ֧ן לִקְרָאתֵ֛נוּ לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה וַנַּכֵּֽם׃
וְאַ֨ךְ אֶת־ דִּמְכֶ֤ם לְנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ אֶדְרֹ֔שׁ מִיַּ֥ד כָּל־ חַיָּ֖ה אֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּ וּמִיַּ֣ד הֽ͏ָאָדָ֗ם מִיַּד֙ אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו אֶדְרֹ֖שׁ אֶת־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ הֽ͏ָאָדָֽם׃
וְעָרְכ֗וּ בְּנֵ֤י אַהֲרֹן֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים אֵ֚ת הַנְּתָחִ֔ים אֶת־ הָרֹ֖אשׁ וְאֶת־ הַפָּ֑דֶר עַל־ הָעֵצִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־ הָאֵ֔שׁ אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־ הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃
וְעָשׂ֥וּ אֲר֖וֹן עֲצֵ֣י שִׁטִּ֑ים אַמָּתַ֨יִם וָחֵ֜צִי אָרְכּ֗וֹ וְאַמָּ֤ה וָחֵ֙צִי֙ רָחְבּ֔וֹ וְאַמָּ֥ה וָחֵ֖צִי קֹמָתֽוֹ׃
וְלֹא־ תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֛י עָלַ֖יִךְ וְלֹ֣א אֶחְמ֑וֹל כִּ֣י דְרָכַ֜יִךְ עָלַ֣יִךְ אֶתֵּ֗ן וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ בְּתוֹכֵ֣ךְ תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ לָ֥הּ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מַה־ לָּ֑ךְ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר הָאִשָּׁ֨ה הַזֹּ֜את אָמְרָ֣ה אֵלַ֗י תְּנִ֤י אֶת־ בְּנֵךְ֙ וְנֹאכְלֶ֣נּוּ הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֶת־ בְּנִ֖י נֹאכַ֥ל מָחָֽר׃
וַיַּ֥ז מִמֶּ֛נּוּ עַֽל־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וַיִּמְשַׁ֨ח אֶת־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֜חַ וְאֶת־ כָּל־ כֵּלָ֗יו וְאֶת־ הַכִּיֹּ֛ר וְאֶת־ כַּנּ֖וֹ לְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

विद्याविनयसम्पन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि । शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः
कच्चिदेतच्छ्रुतं पार्थ त्वयैकाग्रेण चेतसा । कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोहः प्रणष्टस्ते धनञ्जय
τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται ⸂ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ προσθεῖναι⸃ ⸀πῆχυν;
ἡ γὰρ ἁμαρτία ἀφορμὴν λαβοῦσα διὰ τῆς ἐντολῆς ἐξηπάτησέν με καὶ διʼ αὐτῆς ἀπέκτεινεν.
οἱ οὖν Ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον· Ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;
هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَائِكَتُهُ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَكَانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًا
لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا وَيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُمْ بِمَفَازَةٍ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
