וַיָּשָׁב֩ אֶל־ אִ֨ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים ה֣וּא וְכָֽל־ מַחֲנֵ֗הוּ וַיָּבֹא֮ וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד לְפָנָיו֒ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּה־ נָ֤א יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּכָל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֖י אִם־ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְעַתָּ֛ה קַח־ נָ֥א בְרָכָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ת עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃
וְהִצַּ֣תִּי אֵ֗שׁ בְּבָתֵּי֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י מִצְרַ֔יִם וּשְׂרָפָ֖ם וְשָׁבָ֑ם וְעָטָה֩ אֶת־ אֶ֨רֶץ מִצְרַ֜יִם כַּאֲשֶׁר־ יַעְטֶ֤ה הָֽרֹעֶה֙ אֶת־ בִּגְד֔וֹ וְיָצָ֥א מִשָּׁ֖ם בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃
וַיִּקְרָ֣א יַ֠עְבֵּץ לֵאלֹהֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לֵאמֹ֗ר אִם־ בָּרֵ֨ךְ תְּבָרֲכֵ֜נִי וְהִרְבִּ֤יתָ אֶת־ גְּבוּלִי֙ וְהָיְתָ֤ה יָדְךָ֙ עִמִּ֔י וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מֵּרָעָ֖ה לְבִלְתִּ֣י עָצְבִּ֑י וַיָּבֵ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־ שָׁאָֽל׃
וַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּ כָל־ חֲכַם־ לֵ֜ב בְּעֹשֵׂ֧י הַמְּלָאכָ֛ה אֶת־ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן עֶ֣שֶׂר יְרִיעֹ֑ת שֵׁ֣שׁ מָשְׁזָ֗ר וּתְכֵ֤לֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ וְתוֹלַ֣עַת שָׁנִ֔י כְּרֻבִ֛ים מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה חֹשֵׁ֖ב עָשָׂ֥ה אֹתָֽם׃
וּבְעֵ֣ת קֵ֗ץ יִתְנַגַּ֤ח עִמּוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֔גֶב וְיִשְׂתָּעֵ֨ר עָלָ֜יו מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֗וֹן בְּרֶ֙כֶב֙ וּבְפָ֣רָשִׁ֔ים וּבָאֳנִיּ֖וֹת רַבּ֑וֹת וּבָ֥א בַאֲרָצ֖וֹת וְשָׁטַ֥ף וְעָבָֽר׃
וַיְלַקֵּ֣ט יוֹסֵ֗ף אֶת־ כָּל־ הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ הַנִּמְצָ֤א בְאֶֽרֶץ־ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וּבְאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן בַּשֶּׁ֖בֶר אֲשֶׁר־ הֵ֣ם שֹׁבְרִ֑ים וַיָּבֵ֥א יוֹסֵ֛ף אֶת־ הַכֶּ֖סֶף בֵּ֥יתָה פַרְעֹֽה׃
וַיִּקְבֹּ֗ץ אֶת־ כָּל־ יְהוּדָה֙ וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן וְהַגָּרִים֙ עִמָּהֶ֔ם מֵאֶפְרַ֥יִם וּמְנַשֶּׁ֖ה וּמִשִּׁמְע֑וֹן כִּֽי־ נָפְל֨וּ עָלָ֤יו מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל֙ לָרֹ֔ב בִּרְאֹתָ֕ם כִּֽי־ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָ֖יו עִמּֽוֹ׃
לֹ֣א תִשְׁמַ֗ע אֶל־ דִּבְרֵי֙ הַנָּבִ֣יא הַה֔וּא א֛וֹ אֶל־ חוֹלֵ֥ם הַחֲל֖וֹם הַה֑וּא כִּ֣י מְנַסֶּ֞ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ אֶתְכֶ֔ם לָדַ֗עַת הֲיִשְׁכֶ֤ם אֹֽהֲבִים֙ אֶת־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכָל־ לְבַבְכֶ֖ם וּבְכָל־ נַפְשְׁכֶֽם׃
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֣ם ׀ רְאוּבֵן֮ אַל־ תִּשְׁפְּכוּ־ דָם֒ הַשְׁלִ֣יכוּ אֹת֗וֹ אֶל־ הַבּ֤וֹר הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר וְיָ֖ד אַל־ תִּשְׁלְחוּ־ ב֑וֹ לְמַ֗עַן הַצִּ֤יל אֹתוֹ֙ מִיָּדָ֔ם לַהֲשִׁיב֖וֹ אֶל־ אָבִֽיו׃
And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.

σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἥψατο τῶν ⸀ὀμμάτων αὐτῶν, καὶ εὐθέως ⸀ἀνέβλεψαν καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ.
Δικαιωθέντες οὖν ἐκ πίστεως εἰρήνην ⸀ἔχομεν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν διὰ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ,
καὶ ἐξαίφνης ἐγένετο σὺν τῷ ἀγγέλῳ πλῆθος στρατιᾶς ⸀οὐρανίου αἰνούντων τὸν θεὸν καὶ λεγόντων·
κάλαμον συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεάξει καὶ λίνον τυφόμενον οὐ σβέσει, ἕως ἂν ἐκβάλῃ εἰς νῖκος τὴν κρίσιν.
Μετὰ ταῦτα ἦλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν Ἰουδαίαν γῆν, καὶ ἐκεῖ διέτριβεν μετʼ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐβάπτιζεν.
δαπανήσαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ πάντα ἐγένετο λιμὸς ⸀ἰσχυρὰ κατὰ τὴν χώραν ἐκείνην, καὶ αὐτὸς ἤρξατο ὑστερεῖσθαι.
