אָ֣ז עָלָ֗ה הֹרָם֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ גֶּ֔זֶר לַעְזֹ֖ר אֶת־ לָכִ֑ישׁ וַיַּכֵּ֤הוּ יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ וְאֶת־ עַמּ֔וֹ עַד־ בִּלְתִּ֥י הִשְׁאִֽיר־ ל֖וֹ שָׂרִֽיד׃
וּפָקַדְתִּ֗י עַ֤ל הַיּֽוֹשְׁבִים֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּקַ֖דְתִּי עַל־ יְרֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם בַּחֶ֖רֶב בָּרָעָ֥ב וּבַדָּֽבֶר׃
That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
