וַיַּעֲמֹ֨ד הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ עַל־ עָמְד֗וֹ וַיִּכְרֹ֣ת אֶֽת־ הַבְּרִית֮ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ לָלֶ֜כֶת אַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה וְלִשְׁמ֤וֹר אֶת־ מִצְוֺתָיו֙ וְעֵֽדְוֺתָ֣יו וְחֻקָּ֔יו בְּכָל־ לְבָב֖וֹ וּבְכָל־ נַפְשׁ֑וֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ אֶת־ דִּבְרֵ֣י הַבְּרִ֔ית הַכְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל־ הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה׃
And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame.

διὰ τοῦτο παρακεκλήμεθα. Ἐπὶ δὲ τῇ παρακλήσει ⸀ἡμῶν περισσοτέρως μᾶλλον ἐχάρημεν ἐπὶ τῇ χαρᾷ Τίτου, ὅτι ἀναπέπαυται τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ πάντων ὑμῶν·
καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ ⸂ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς⸃, καὶ ἐζήτουν πῶς αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν· ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ αὐτόν, ⸂πᾶς γὰρ⸃ ὁ ὄχλος ἐξεπλήσσετο ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ.
