וְאֵ֖לֶּה רָאשֵׁ֣י בֵית־ אֲבוֹתָ֑ם וְעֵ֡פֶר וְיִשְׁעִ֡י וֶאֱלִיאֵ֡ל וְ֠עַזְרִיאֵל וְיִרְמְיָ֨ה וְהוֹדַוְיָ֜ה וְיַחְדִּיאֵ֗ל אֲנָשִׁים֙ גִּבּ֣וֹרֵי חַ֔יִל אַנְשֵׁ֣י שֵׁמ֔וֹת רָאשִׁ֖ים לְבֵ֥ית אֲבוֹתָֽם׃
וַתָּ֨עַד בָּהֶ֜ם לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם אֶל־ תּוֹרָתֶ֗ךָ וְהֵ֨מָּה הֵזִ֜ידוּ וְלֹא־ שָׁמְע֤וּ לְמִצְוֺתֶ֙יךָ֙ וּבְמִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ חָֽטְאוּ־ בָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־ יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה אָדָ֖ם וְחָיָ֣ה בָהֶ֑ם וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ כָתֵף֙ סוֹרֶ֔רֶת וְעָרְפָּ֥ם הִקְשׁ֖וּ וְלֹ֥א שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃
וַיַּמְלִיכוּ֩ יוֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם אֶת־ אֲחַזְיָ֨הוּ בְנ֤וֹ הַקָּטֹן֙ תַּחְתָּ֔יו כִּ֤י כָל־ הָרִאשֹׁנִים֙ הָרַ֣ג הַגְּד֔וּד הַבָּ֥א בָֽעַרְבִ֖ים לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אֲחַזְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־ יְהוֹרָ֖ם מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃
וַיְהִ֞י כִּשְׁמֹ֤עַ כָּל־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כִּֽי־ שָׁ֣ב יָרָבְעָ֔ם וֽ͏ַיִּשְׁלְח֗וּ וַיִּקְרְא֤וּ אֹתוֹ֙ אֶל־ הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה וַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּ אֹת֖וֹ עַל־ כָּל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לֹ֤א הָיָה֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י בֵית־ דָּוִ֔ד זוּלָתִ֥י שֵֽׁבֶט־ יְהוּדָ֖ה לְבַדּֽוֹ׃
אַל־ נָ֣א יָשִׂ֣ים אֲדֹנִ֣י ׀ אֶת־ לִבּ֡וֹ אֶל־ אִישׁ֩ הַבְּלִיַּ֨עַל הַזֶּ֜ה עַל־ נָבָ֗ל כִּ֤י כִשְׁמוֹ֙ כֶּן־ ה֔וּא נָבָ֣ל שְׁמ֔וֹ וּנְבָלָ֖ה עִמּ֑וֹ וֽ͏ַאֲנִי֙ אֲמָ֣תְךָ֔ לֹ֥א רָאִ֛יתִי אֶת־ נַעֲרֵ֥י אֲדֹנִ֖י אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁלָֽחְתָּ׃
כֹּֽה־ יַעֲשֶׂה֩ יְהוָ֨ה לִֽיהוֹנָתָ֜ן וְכֹ֣ה יֹסִ֗יף כִּֽי־ יֵיטִ֨ב אֶל־ אָבִ֤י אֶת־ הָֽרָעָה֙ עָלֶ֔יךָ וְגָלִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־ אָזְנֶ֔ךָ וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֖יךָ וְהָלַכְתָּ֣ לְשָׁל֑וֹם וִיהִ֤י יְהוָה֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־ אָבִֽי׃
Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.

πάντες γὰρ αὐτὸν εἶδον καὶ ἐταράχθησαν. ⸂ὁ δὲ εὐθὺς⸃ ἐλάλησεν μετʼ αὐτῶν, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Θαρσεῖτε, ἐγώ εἰμι, μὴ φοβεῖσθε.
