וַיֵּ֨דַע אָדָ֥ם עוֹד֙ אֶת־ אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֔ן וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־ שְׁמ֖וֹ שֵׁ֑ת כִּ֣י שָֽׁת־ לִ֤י אֱלֹהִים֙ זֶ֣רַע אַחֵ֔ר תַּ֣חַת הֶ֔בֶל כִּ֥י הֲרָג֖וֹ קָֽיִן׃
וְיוֹסֵ֗ף ה֚וּא הַשַּׁלִּ֣יט עַל־ הָאָ֔רֶץ ה֥וּא הַמַּשְׁבִּ֖יר לְכָל־ עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אֲחֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף וַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־ ל֥וֹ אַפַּ֖יִם אָֽרְצָה׃
לְכָל־ זֹנ֖וֹת יִתְּנוּ־ נֵ֑דֶה וְאַ֨תְּ נָתַ֤תְּ אֶת־ נְדָנַ֙יִךְ֙ לְכָל־ מְאַֽהֲבַ֔יִךְ וַתִּשְׁחֳדִ֣י אוֹתָ֗ם לָב֥וֹא אֵלַ֛יִךְ מִסָּבִ֖יב בְּתַזְנוּתָֽיִךְ׃
וַיָּ֣קָם שָׁא֗וּל וַיֵּ֙רֶד֙ אֶל־ מִדְבַּר־ זִ֔יף וְאִתּ֛וֹ שְׁלֹֽשֶׁת־ אֲלָפִ֥ים אִ֖ישׁ בְּחוּרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־ דָּוִ֖ד בְּמִדְבַּר־ זִֽיף׃
וַיְהִ֗י עַ֣ד דִּבֶּ֤ר שָׁאוּל֙ אֶל־ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְהֶהָמ֗וֹן אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּמַחֲנֵ֣ה פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ הָל֖וֹךְ וָרָ֑ב וַיֹּ֧אמֶר שָׁא֛וּל אֶל־ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן אֱסֹ֥ף יָדֶֽךָ׃
כִּ֠י אִֽם־ אֶל־ הַמָּק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁר־ יִבְחַ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ מִכָּל־ שִׁבְטֵיכֶ֔ם לָשׂ֥וּם אֶת־ שְׁמ֖וֹ שָׁ֑ם לְשִׁכְנ֥וֹ תִדְרְשׁ֖וּ וּבָ֥אתָ שָֽׁמָּה׃
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Αἰτεῖτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν· ζητεῖτε, καὶ εὑρήσετε· κρούετε, καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν.
