וַיִּשְׁמַ֨ע בֶּן־ הֲדַ֜ד אֶל־ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָסָ֗א וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח אֶת־ שָׂרֵ֨י הַחֲיָלִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־ לוֹ֙ עַל־ עָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־ עִיּ֣וֹן וְאֶת־ דָּ֔ן וְאֵ֖ת אָבֵ֣ל בֵּֽית־ מַעֲכָ֑ה וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ כִּנְר֔וֹת עַ֖ל כָּל־ אֶ֥רֶץ נַפְתָּלִֽי׃
וַיִּקָּרֵא֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם לִפְנֵ֖י עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֑ד וְאַבְשָׁל֞וֹם רֹכֵ֣ב עַל־ הַפֶּ֗רֶד וַיָּבֹ֣א הַפֶּ֡רֶד תַּ֣חַת שׂוֹבֶךְ֩ הָאֵלָ֨ה הַגְּדוֹלָ֜ה וַיֶּחֱזַ֧ק רֹאשׁ֣וֹ בָאֵלָ֗ה וַיֻּתַּן֙ בֵּ֤ין הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וּבֵ֣ין הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהַפֶּ֥רֶד אֲשֶׁר־ תַּחְתָּ֖יו עָבָֽר׃
Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Γενομένης δὲ ἡμέρας ποιήσαντες ⸂συστροφὴν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι⸃ ἀνεθεμάτισαν ἑαυτοὺς λέγοντες μήτε φαγεῖν μήτε πιεῖν ἕως οὗ ἀποκτείνωσιν τὸν Παῦλον.
