וַיִּוָּעַ֣ץ דָּוִ֗יד עִם־ שָׂרֵ֧י הָאֲלָפִ֛ים וְהַמֵּא֖וֹת לְכָל־ נָגִֽיד׃

יֹֽאמְרוּ־ נָ֥א בֵֽית־ אַהֲרֹ֑ן כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃

שֵׁ֣ן רֹ֭עָה וְרֶ֣גֶל מוּעָ֑דֶת מִבְטָ֥ח בּ֝וֹגֵ֗ד בְּי֣וֹם צָרֽ͏ָה׃

maa shuune bhuuma suuryasya saMdRshi bhadraM jiivanto jaraNaam ashiimahi

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

vide hi maataa maho mahii Saa set pRshniH subhve\ garbham aadhaat

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

सखेति मत्वा प्रसभं यदुक्तम् हे कृष्ण हे यादव हे सखेति । अजानता महिमानं तवेदम् मया प्रमादात्प्रणयेन वापि

وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ مِنَ الْمَقْبُوحِينَ

κύριος γάρ ἐστιν τοῦ σαββάτου ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.

رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي نُفُوسِكُمْ إِنْ تَكُونُوا صَالِحِينَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ لِلْأَوَّابِينَ غَفُورًا

Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

abhi Sa dyumnair uta vaajasaatibhiH sumnaa vo dhuutayo nashat

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

dhartaa divo rajasas pRSTa uurdhvo ratho na vaayur vasubhir niyutvaan

abhiim indro nadyo\ vavriNaa hitaa vishvaa anuSThaaH pravaNeSu jighnate

وَإِذْ وَاعَدْنَا مُوسَى أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنْتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ

πᾶς γὰρ ὁ φαῦλα πράσσων μισεῖ τὸ φῶς καὶ οὐκ ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸ φῶς, ἵνα μὴ ἐλεγχθῇ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ·

So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
